FAQs: AccuracyUpdated a year ago
Below are some of the most common questions we get about Baseline's accuracy. If you have a question that's not listed here, reach out to our team.
How accurate are the speed / net measurements?
This can depend greatly on lighting, environment, and speed. To be safe, we can confidently say our measurements are within 5% of our reference.
Will shade on court affect accuracy?
High contrast in the camera's frame might impact the quality of the calibration, since one or more lines might stay undetected.
That said, the camera doesn't need all the lines to calibrate and "extrapolates" on the missing lines, so this shouldn't be a problem.
Will the camera accurately call lines on grass courts?
Yes, as long as the lines are reasonably visible.
Will the camera accurately call lines on clay courts?
Yes, as long as the lines are reasonably visible. Giving the court a quick sweep before you calibrate the camera should ensure accuracy.
Can I use 2 Baseline Cams for better accuracy?
While it does improve performance a bit, we'd say adding another system on the other side of the net isn't worth the money and hassle for most people.
Nothing prevents you from doing so, of course, but we don't build our UI / infrastructure around that use case.
